My office is located in the long-standing Monadnock Building in Chicago’s Loop. First opened in 1893, this rugged old building sets the tone for the grounded work we will do together.
M-F – 9 am – 7 pm
I charge $165 per session. I am an in-network provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and can bill your sessions directly. I am also happy to provide an invoice to submit to your insurance provider for out-of-network reimbursement.
A limited number of sliding-scale fee arrangements are available. Please ask!
Call or text at (312) 715-7828 for a free consultation.
I charge for canceled sessions with less than 24 hours’ notice.
I offer individual counseling and life coaching to adults 18 and over.
While I specialize in working with men, I work with adult men and women.
We will start in either of two ways, depending on what works best for you.
If something is pressing to talk about right away, we can start there. I want you to feel some relief from day one!
If not, we will usually start with some family history. My goal is to learn as much about you as I can.
We talk! And sometimes, we meditate if that’s right for you. My goal is to listen to you as carefully as possible, creating an environment where you feel comfortable sharing your deepest thoughts and feelings.
Moving your thoughts and feelings from you out into the world fuels healing and transformation. I will talk too – sharing my insights and compassion where and when the moment is right.
That is up to you! Sometimes the work is as simple as paying attention to your thoughts and feelings. And other times, we may decide to work on daily meditation practice.
Other tasks are sometimes needed depending on what you are trying to accomplish. Keeping your goals in mind is always essential. Becoming aware is the first step toward creating change in your life.
I use the tools that are most helpful at the moment. Sometimes, psychodynamic exploration of your subconscious world is powerful; at other times, I will use cognitive-behavioral techniques to address specific thoughts and beliefs. Almost always, learning to bring greater mindfulness to your experience is part of our work.
I have a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University.
Almost always, you will feel challenged. I value your time and investment and want to support your movement toward a better life with momentum and clarity. In most cases, change comes from hard work.
I love to paint. I was an art history major in college and have been an amateur artist ever since. Some people express themselves through journaling – for me, arranging color on canvas enables me to express my deepest thoughts and feelings. Painting is often my growth edge – a place where I feel inspired and awake.
Shavasana, for sure! This yoga pose occurs at the end of the practice, where you lie on the floor and rest to integrate the work you performed.
Learning to rest is often much harder than we think, and learning to allow your body and mind to rest is a critical part of growth and transformation. Sometimes, therapy sessions are like Shavasana – the time when you stop and put the pieces together.
I eat toast almost every day – with either butter or almond butter! Yum.
After 40 years of coffee drinking, I finally gave it up. And I feel more energized without the caffeine! However, I love both coffee and tea.
You may know of the little hole-in-the-wall on Foster west of Clark. A good falafel sandwich is one of my favorite foods. Yes, I’m a foodie. I love to cook and eat! For me, it is one of life’s great joys.
